Oklahoma artist Ken Baker is fulfilling
    a lifelong dream of becoming
    a full-time artist. A successful
businessman, Baker operates a company that
he founded more than 20 years ago, but, with
continued success as an artist, he has devoted
more time to his true passion.

    A devoted landscape painter whose
ark has been a favorite with collectors for
ears, Baker paints exclusively in oil and his
subjects reflect his interest in the Southwest,
    particularlv Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico
    and Colorado.
"I love the wide open spaces of the West,"
says Baker, "And varied landscapes, from the
prairie to the mountains to the desert."
His love for plein air painting has led him to
many unique sites, including old missions and
    early settlements.

"It is my intention to create painting that
are honest and fresh," says Baker. "I find
that easier to accomplish if I am standing
on-site. As an artist, I want the viewer of my
paintings to feel they are there with me."
Baker is represented by the Dean-Lively
    Gallery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
